Blood tests and X-ray results have been “normal after an operation,” doctors Luigi Carbone and Stefano Margaritora said on Wednesday, according to AFP.
The Pope has also been able to eat, according to the doctors.
The Vatican previously announced that parts of the right lung had been removed after doctors determined during the procedure that the cancer diagnosis was consistent with the results of tests done before the operation.
The Pope’s appearances and other engagements through October 20 have been canceled.
