Over half of Norwegians want Norway to withdraw from the Eurovision Song Contest if Israel participates, according to a new survey from Norway's largest trade union federation, Fagforbundet.

Five countries are so far boycotting the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna next year. The reason is that Israel is allowed to compete despite the war in Gaza.

Over half of those surveyed want Norway to withdraw from the Eurovision Song Contest if Israel participates. According to the survey, published in the Norwegian daily newspaper Klassekampen, only 18 percent believe that Norway should participate.

When the 2026 ESC entry list was announced earlier in December, it was clear that five countries would be withdrawing from the competition: Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain. This means that 35 countries will be participating, including Norway.
