The political crisis in South Korea is also pressuring the stock exchange in the country, a stock exchange that, unlike many in the world, has not had a shining 2024.

In the opening hours of trading on Monday, the Kospi index was down as much as 2.3 percent.

Even in China, leading indexes were in the minus, with the composite index in Shanghai and Shenzhen at minus 0.4 and minus 0.8 percent, respectively. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index was down minus 0.6 percent.

In Tokyo, on the other hand, it was plus, with the Nikkei 225 index up 0.3 percent and the broader Topix index up 0.4 percent.
