"We would like to emphasize that the public should be wary when it comes to spreading rumors, disinformation and misleading information, for example on social media," police spokesperson Evelina Olsson told GP.
According to the police, it is common for foreign powers to try to influence people by spreading false information that stirs up emotions. Evelina Olsson therefore urges the public to be extra critical.
"It's about not spreading false information. If we have a major incident, it's important to share information through known channels," Olsson says.
