A armed man was shot by police in connection with his arrest in Glömsta in Huddinge municipality late on Monday evening.
The man, who is in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
We received a large number of calls at 23.30 about an armed man running around in villa gardens, screaming and waving a pistol. When we confronted the man, the police were forced to fire a shot during the arrest, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the Stockholm police.
The shot man is suspected of attempted murder, where a police officer is the victim.
We are mapping him right now to see what he has done before, says Ola Österling.
The police have cordoned off the area and are conducting a technical investigation. A pistol was found on the suspect in connection with the arrest.
