A man has been shot in the leg by police in connection with an operation in Fisksätra. The man is suspected of arson after two apartments have burned in the area. The police had to use their service weapon to stop him, says the police's press spokesperson Anna Westberg.

The police were ordered to the Stockholm suburb of Fisksätra, in Nacka, due to a fire in an apartment. Shortly after the first alarm came in, reports arrived that there was a fire in another apartment. The police suspect that the fires are arson.

It's two different apartments in different entrances, but the same area, says the police's press spokesperson Anna Westberg.

The suspected perpetrator was armed with, among other things, a knife and refused to listen to the police's orders to stop, which made the police open fire on him. The man is arrested and taken by ambulance to the hospital.

I know that he is shot in the leg and that he has lost some blood, says Westberg.

According to the police, the fires occurred after the bailiff was on site.

Then exactly why they were on site and the circumstances surrounding it. I don't have any details about that, but after that, it's supposed to have started burning.

Three people have been taken to the hospital with smoke injuries.

We have several resources on site and will be staying for a good while longer, I would guess, says Anna Westberg.

The incident is classified as arson in the current situation.
