The alarm came at 7:25 p.m. on Sunday evening. The objects were found near the Nordstan bus stop, not far from Gothenburg Central Station.
People on site reacted to the objects; two were found together, says Adam Isaksson Samara, press spokesperson for the police.
A large area was cordoned off so that the objects could be examined. Later in the evening, the cordons were lifted.
The objects have been assessed as sharp. As a result, the bomb squad has taken them away to render them harmless, says Adam Isaksson Samara.
The incident is being investigated as a serious violation of the Flammable and Explosives Act. Police do not want to say whether anyone has been arrested.
