The police were called to a restaurant in Nyfors near Tunavallen at around 5 p.m. A 25-year-old man was found there with serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
At 7:15 p.m., police announced that the man had died.
The crime is now classified as murder, says police spokesperson Mats Pettersson.
Right now we are intensively working on analyzing traces from the crime scene. We do not have anyone in custody, so the search is ongoing.
In addition, surveillance camera footage from the restaurant and the surrounding area is being examined, and witnesses are being interviewed.
Police declined to say how the man was injured.
