Police officers barred from wearing uniforms in Pride parade, but can wear rainbow T-shirts

Police officers are no longer allowed to take part in the Pride parade wearing uniforms. Instead, employees who want to participate outside work hours can wear a specially designed rainbow-colored T-shirt.

The decision was made last spring, in light of the need to make it clear when a police officer is on duty or not. The T-shirt was developed as an alternative way to represent the Police Authority.

We go on the trains, it is free for all employees and is also encouraged, says Kristian Ljungberg at the Police Authority.

Nor are Region Stockholm employees allowed to wear work clothes in the parade if they are not on duty, according toP4 Stockholm .
