The police began searching for the 15-year-old after he drove at approximately 60-70 kilometers per hour on a road in Falkenberg municipality.
The police allegedly followed the moped, overtook it and blocked the road so closely in front of the moped that the 15-year-old did not have time to stop. The 15-year-old suffered a wrist fracture during the intervention.
The district court acquitted the police, but the Court of Appeal sided with the prosecutor, finding, among other things, that the police created dangerous situations for an unprotected road user (the 15-year-old). The police were sentenced to pay a 50-day fine.
