According to information provided to DN, the police officer worked part-time as a booker and instructor at a private shooting range for over ten years. He is also said to have been in contact with the shooting range's former site manager, who had a background in the white-power environment.
The man was reportedly repeatedly urged by the authorities to stop working at the shooting range, but he ignored this. During some of the most violent years in Sweden, 2020–2022, the shooting range also lacked a permit, but operations continued.
The police say that the current national police leadership was not aware of the information about the man and that they will now review the police's handling and the authority's security work in general, according to a press release.
