A police officer is convicted of misconduct, after causing a moped accident on the Småland highlands last year. Eksjö district court sentences him to 60 day-fines, totaling 19,200 kronor, reports P4 Jönköping.

According to the police, he only tried to stop the mopedist, who according to him had driven recklessly earlier in the day. However, when he grabbed the moped passenger's jacket, the vehicle crashed.

It was already clear earlier that the police officer would be allowed to keep his job even if he was convicted.
