The police officer who was prosecuted for misconduct after firing a shot at a one-legged woman is acquitted by Växjö district court, reports P4 Kronoberg.

Local media have previously reported that the woman was aggressive and armed with an axe. They have also reported that she had a toy gun in front of her.

The shot hit the woman's remaining leg. According to the prosecutor, the police officer shot despite it not being a self-defense situation, but the district court does not agree with that.

According to the district court, the axe the woman was holding was dangerous enough to cause life-threatening injuries

The incident occurred in Växjö in August last year.
