The police across the country will start working proactively to counteract so-called sugar dating.
Through fake profiles on sugar dating sites, the police hope to make contact with young people who are forced to sell sex online, reports Sveriges radio Ekot.
The aim is to find these young people who choose to or feel forced to sell sex online, says Kristian Frödén, group leader at the Stockholm police's prostitution and human trafficking section, to Ekot.
Today, it is only the Stockholm police who do this in a structured way, but now a special method support has been sent out to all police regions in the country. The police regions will then collaborate with social services in the proactive work.
