The police in the Southern region want to patrol where the young people are, on the internet. A new system for digital patrolling is now being launched, reports P4 Malmöhus.

The past few years, crime has decreased quite significantly, down to around 10-11-year-olds. Then we want to reach them in a better way and online gaming is a good way, according to both Denmark and Norway, says Stefan Sintéus, Police Chief and operational responsible, to the radio.

In a pilot study, a new system has been tested and it will now be used in Malmö and Lund. Initially, it's about chatting with young people, but in the long run, it may also be the case that the police play with young people. The plan is that the system will then be used throughout the southern police region.
