Since the Easter weekend, all work on the construction of the new steel mill has been stopped. According to SVT Norrbotten, a total of 20 workers from subcontractors have experienced symptoms, of whom seven have had to seek medical attention after working on the site.

Test results have shown elevated levels of toxic gas in the machines, but no investigation of the suspected crime scene has been carried out due to the risks.

Forensics considered that there were uncertainties about whether these substances were so dangerous that they could cause illness, investigation leader Patrik Åström tells SVT.
