After several cable breaks in the ground and on the railway network in western Sweden, the police are investigating several cases of suspected sabotage, reports P4 Gothenburg.

According to information, individuals in so-called warning clothing have arrived in company vehicles, cut cables, and then returned to dig up the cables.

In Police Region West, there is a special unit that investigates bulk crimes that may be linked to sabotage against various power systems, transportation, and water supply.

There are several ongoing investigations into cable breaks with different criminal classifications, such as theft or suspected sabotage.

Just as you shouldn't exaggerate the danger, you can't be a stranger to the fact that it may be that this has other explanations than just theft, says Erik Nord at the regional investigation unit in Police Region West to P4.
