Police and the national bomb squad were deployed after an alarm about a suspected dangerous object in a residential area in Solna, northwest of Stockholm.
The bomb squad could however quickly determine that the object was harmless. Just after 12 o'clock, the police announced that the cordons had been lifted and that the operation had been completed.
It was some kind of pump, says the police's press spokesperson Rebecca Landberg, to TV4 News.
