When the Riksdag held its solemn opening, there were demonstrators against Israel's warfare in Gaza on site at the Riksdag building. The evening before, Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), Minister for Civil Defense, was followed on his way home from the Riksdag.
"In addition to shouting like idiots in my ears, the vast majority also had both film cameras and mobile phones," Bohlin wrote on X.
He estimates that there were at most 15-20 people. He tells TT that it felt "unpleasant and somewhat threatening".
According to Jimmie Åkesson, it is a topic of conversation in the Riksdag corridors that the police allow the activists to stand so close to the Riksdag. The SD leader says that before the summer, he got the impression that the police would do something about it.
Apparently, they have failed and now they are allowed to stand on Riksgatan outside our entrances. I think it's very strange, he says.
"Like barbarians"
According to KD leader Ebba Busch, the activists constitute "a threat to democracy".
Palestine activists are acting like barbarians on Swedish streets, she says.
Busch thinks that one should have a dialogue with the police about whether it is the law or the application of the law that is deficient.
The government has been in contact with Säpo after Carl-Oskar Bohlin was followed.
– It is to ensure that the work continues to ensure that our representatives of democracy are safe and secure, says Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M).
The police are investigating the incident under the heading of harassment.
Was followed
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) reminds us that Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard was previously attacked with tomatoes.
Now it's happening again. It's completely unacceptable, says Kristersson.
Even S leader Magdalena Andersson thinks what happened is unacceptable. She says that she herself was followed by "partly the same people" over the weekend. Andersson stopped and talked to them and says she was not afraid.
V leader Nooshi Dadgostar says she "feels a lot" for Bohlin.
I've been exposed myself and have a parliamentary group that gets followed and harassed every other day, she says.
Dadgostar, however, talks about activists in general, including Nazis.
It's extremely unpleasant. We sacrifice a lot when we're in this job. The government needs to take care of this. We all need to take responsibility for the social climate.
