Rickard Andersson planned the mass shooting at Campus Risbergska in Örebro for several months – at the same time, parts of the police's preliminary investigation suggest that he hesitated before the deed. It is different parts of his behavior during the last time that makes us able to assume that there has been an ambivalence, says the police's commanding officer Henrik Dahlström to SVT Örebro.

On Friday, the police's preliminary investigation into the mass shooting at Campus Risbergska in Örebro was released, where ten people were killed and several were injured.

It emerges that the planning of the deed had been going on for a long time and the police describe how Rickard Andersson cleaned up in the residence, got rid of things, prepared his weapons and made complementary purchases.

A possible first indicator of planning occurs when he acquires weapons. We believe that these thoughts may have existed for a very long time, says Dahlström to SVT.

In parallel, there are indications that Rickard Andersson tried to get his life situation in order.

He has prepared himself to apply for income support and paid rent, says Dahlström.

Something else that speaks to the ambivalence, according to the police, is that Andersson was at the school for several hours before he started shooting. According to witness statements, he made the final preparations for the rifles just before.
