Police identify 56 sexually abused children in nationwide operation

In a nationwide operation, police have identified 56 children who have been sexually abused.

"Our focus is on helping as many children as possible. But if we find the children, we will also find the perpetrators and can prosecute them," says Christer Andersson, head of the task force Isöb Noa, which investigates internet-related sexual abuse of children, in a statement on the police website.

A total of 234 children have been identified since the task force weeks began. The fifth week has been the most successful so far in identifying victims.

During the task force weeks, specialists from Noa and all police regions work to identify children who have been subjected to documented abuse. Experts in fields such as image and audio forensics also take part.
