According to the newspaper, the suspected rape of a female colleague occurred at an overnight conference.
The man was arrested on Wednesday night and remanded in custody on Thursday afternoon. He denies the crime, his lawyer told Sydsvenskan.
The suspect is said to be a civilian employee of the police.
