The police are discontinuing a preliminary investigation into threats against IFK Göteborg's outgoing club director Håkan Mild, reports Göteborgs-Posten. A great disappointment, says Mild to the newspaper.

It was after a meeting with the hooligan group Wisemen that IFK Göteborg chose to report to the police. Three people were served with suspicion of unlawful threats during the summer.

Now, however, prosecutor Mats Ihlbom chooses to discontinue the preliminary investigation, which became public on Friday.

According to the prosecutor, the crime cannot be proven. But Ihlbom tells GP that there are deficiencies in the legislation.

After going through the investigation and the current legislation, I can conclude that there may be reason for the legislator to review the laws that relate to potential influence on people who work in non-profit associations or, for that matter, laws that protect all people who work with non-profit activities, says Ihlbom.

Håkan Mild announced earlier in the week that he will resign as club director of IFK Göteborg after the season.
