Both men have been questioned and are currently suspected of murder, says the police's press spokesperson Ola Österling.
The men were arrested and detained in connection with a major police operation on Midsummer Day. The deceased and the detained men know each other from before, according to Österling who however does not want to give any closer details about how the suspected murder occurred.
Police resources from the mainland were called to Gotland to participate in the investigative work.
The incident is classified as murder and is according to the police "isolated" without connections to other incidents.
