On December 9, 2025, a woman and a boy were found dead in a home in Hörby, and police opened an investigation into double murder.
A man was initially a suspect at the lower level of suspicion, but he was then released and removed from the investigation entirely.
It is now clear that this is not two separate murders but one case, and that the deceased woman is suspected of being the sole perpetrator.
"Because the woman is deceased, no charges will be brought and I will conclude the investigation," said Linn Fritz, head of the preliminary investigation, in a press release.
According to Fritz, the investigation has identified a probable motive, which she does not want to comment on in detail out of consideration for the relatives.
