The accident occurred last fall at the Kvarn ground combat school outside Motala. The man, who was in his 50s, was participating as an extra during an exercise and died when a distraction grenade landed under him and exploded.
Three people were initially suspected of manslaughter, but the prosecutor has now announced that he will not press charges.
The reason for the decision is that, according to the prosecutor, it is not possible to prove that the suspects realized there was a risk that the man could be injured or die.
Since March 30, the police have not used live distraction grenades in training or practice.
