The man who was shot to death on Tuesday was in his 35s and known to the police previously, says Emelie Kullmyr, police area manager in Greater Gothenburg.
The shooting occurred at 7 pm near a school in Tolered on Hisingen. At the same time, a parent meeting was in progress at the school.
It is a very reckless and serious incident that has our highest priority right now, says Kullmyr.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into the murder, but as of Wednesday afternoon, there is no one arrested or suspected of the crime.
We need everyone who may have heard and seen something to contact us with information, says Emelie Kullmyr.
The incident occurred a week after two men were found shot to death in a car in Lunden in eastern Gothenburg. According to media reports, there are suspicions that both shootings are linked to a conflict between gang criminal groups in southern and northern Biskopsgården in Gothenburg.
I rule out nothing, but at present, we are working broadly. We are also putting a lot of effort into ensuring that we do not get any other violent crimes, says Emelie Kullmyr.
