It was in March that the police announced that three supporter groups around IFK Göteborg would be classified as criminal networks. However, the authority has now clarified that this concerns individual people, not the supporter groups as a whole.
What we have actually done is start from these high-risk supporter networks and identified individuals whom we have then classified as part of a criminal network, says Jens Ahlstrand, head of the intelligence unit in the region, to Dagens Nyheter.
According to Ahlstrand, this currently involves around 100 people.
Instead of talking about that association as a criminal network, I and a few others talked about the groups these people are based in as criminal networks, and that is not right, he tells Göteborgs-Posten.
