The electric car manufacturer Polestar is giving notice to 100 people in Gothenburg, reports Gothenburg-Post. All affected are in the research and development department.

It is connected to what we announced earlier this year, that we will be using Geely group's platforms for future car models. On the upcoming model Polestar 7, we will be using a Volvo platform, says Theo Kjellberg, press officer at Polestar, to GP.

In total, 2,100 people work at Polestar, of which 1,200 are in Sweden. The company will now initiate trade union negotiations about the notice.

Polestar is part of the Chinese billionaire Li Shufu's vehicle empire, where the Chinese Geely is also included.
