Poland has permanently recalled its ambassador to Hungary. The reason is that Hungary has granted asylum to a former Polish minister who is accused of corruption in his home country.
"Poland's ambassador to Hungary ended his mission on July 15. The reason was the hostile act against Poland of granting political asylum to former deputy minister Marcin Romanowski, who is wanted for a crime," says the Polish Foreign Ministry to AFP.
The former deputy justice minister Marcin Romanowski, who belongs to the opposition party Law and Justice (PIS), is accused of corruption in his home country, but chose to flee from an arrest warrant.
