Pokémon and Trump tariff refund drive Nintendo profit up 150 percent

The profit of 142 billion yen, equivalent to around 8.5 billion kronor, was twice as high as analysts' expectations of 74 billion.

In total, the gaming giant sold 3.8 million Switch 2 consoles during the quarter and 9.4 million games for the console.

Among the games, "Yoshi and the Mysterious Book" and "Pokémon Pokopia" sold well, the company said.

The company's total sales fell 9.5 percent to 517 billion yen, but that was higher than analysts' expectations of 448 billion yen, according to a Bloomberg compilation of forecasts.
