Prior to the start of stage 18 in the Tour de France, star Tadej Pogacar crashed into a car – belonging to rival team Team Visma - Lease a bike.
We were on our way to the start, and so were the cars. There was plenty of space ahead, and we were driving behind the car, maybe a bit too close.
I hurt myself, but I'm okay, said Pogacar according to Aftonbladet.
The leader in the overall standings continued to drive anyway, and finished second on the king's stage. The winner was Australian Ben O'Connor, almost two minutes ahead of Pogacar.
Danish Jonas Vingegaard, who drives for Team Visma, came third – ten seconds after Pogacar.
Slovenian Pogacar still tops the overall standings, nearly 4.5 minutes ahead of second-place Vingegaard.
