Tadej Pogacar won the Tour de France in style.
He had an unbeatable lead before the final stage. And the Slovenian also won that, a time trial between Monaco and Nice.
And just like in the overall standings, the Dane Jonas Vingegaard came second and the Belgian Remco Evenepoel third in the time trial, distanced by over a minute.
It was an incredible journey. What a fight with Jonas and Remco, so much happened, says Pogacar according to AFP.
Pogacar has won the Tour de France twice before. Then he got to ride into the finish traditionally in Paris. But due to the Olympics, this year's cycling tour ended in Nice.
The Slovenian becomes the first since 1998 (Marco Pantani) to win both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France in the same year.
Taking the double is incredible. Winning the tour is a notch higher (than the Giro d'Italia). Winning both is the next level, says Pogacar.
