Interest in settling in Götene in Västergötland has been almost non-existent over the past 20 years. To address the problem, the municipality has started selling plots of land for one crown per square metre, according to SVT Väst.
If this were to lead to a family with children wanting to build a house in our municipality, it would be absolutely fantastic and it's something we seem to be succeeding with, says Johan Månsson, (GF), chairman of the municipal council, to the channel.
About 30 plots of land have been for sale since the campaign started in April. So far, three plots have been sold, two of which are located in the urban area of Hällekis. This is the same number as the number of houses built in the urban area over the past 20 years.
