"After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end our collaboration with Kojima Productions on project Physint," PlayStation wrote in a post on X on Thursday.
The announcement was immediately followed by a statement from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who said the company would be taking over publishing.
“A big moment for Xbox,” she wrote on X.
Kojima himself said the company had been searching for a new publisher for three months and that development of the game would now continue under Xbox.
"'Physint' is an important project both for me personally and for Kojima Productions," the Japanese gaming guru writes on X.
