The Austrian football player Guido Burgstaller is being cared for in hospital with severe head injuries after being attacked on the street by an unknown man.
The 35-year-old, who plays for Rapid Wien and has made 26 international appearances for Austria, was attacked over the weekend in central Vienna by a man and fell to the ground. Burgstaller suffered, among other things, a skull fracture and will have to spend several days in hospital.
His club says he will probably not be able to play football for several months.
