The national team ends the World Cup qualifiers tonight against Slovenia, which has been a long and unsuccessful one.
The World Cup is a long way off, but there is a chance to reach the playoffs in Mexico, the USA and Canada this summer.
Whether Sweden will make it there will only be decided in March, in a two-stage playoff. First, the national team must win its away semi-final to reach the final for a place in the World Cup.
The playoff draw will be held in Zurich on Thursday.
"It will be as it is on Thursday. Only when we know who we will meet can we start planning," says Stefan Pettersson.
He also tells Viaplay that the national team management is already planning to play in the World Cup.
We will be assigned a base in one of the three clusters in North America. We will go to the draw on December 5th.
