The plane, a Boeing 737, has been circling in the air and made a so-called "flyby" at low altitude for an inspection before the emergency landing.
In the flyby, one saw that a tire is damaged and therefore one is now preparing for a "hard landing", said Elisa Skari at Norwegian to the newspaper.
Police, ambulance and rescue services were present at the incident.
The plane was on its way to Paris when the tire explosion occurred, reports TV4.
