The Kurdish PKK movement announces that it is withdrawing its forces from Turkey to northern Iraq.

The withdrawal is part of the peace process between Turkey and PKK, which during the year has meant several approaches between the parties that for decades have been in armed conflict with each other.

PKK's leader Abdullah Öcalan announced earlier this year that PKK, which is terrorist-stamped by Turkey and the EU, would no longer conduct an armed struggle against Turkey and instead drive its issues in a peaceful way.

Since the eighties, the armed conflict between PKK and Turkey has claimed tens of thousands of lives.

"To prevent the risk of clashes or provocations, we are currently withdrawing all our forces in Turkey", it says in a statement, according to AP.
