Andrew Rennie, who will take over as Domino's UK CEO in 2023, said there is no "massive growth" left in the country's pizza market, the Financial Times reports. The company has launched the Chick 'N' Dip sub-brand in around 200 of its 1,400 branches in the UK.
"We're seeing people's dietary habits change a bit. If you look at the whole world, chicken is the fastest growing protein. So launching a chicken range seemed pretty obvious to me," Rennie said.
Domino's, which opened its first UK restaurant in Luton in 1985, has seen a general decline in demand for pizza, with orders falling by 1.5 per cent over the summer months.
Pizza Hut in the UK is also feeling the decline in pizza demand and is closing 69 restaurants in the country.
