Pittsburgh has now lost seven of its last eight games. Away against Utah, Erik Karlsson and Rickard Rakell did their part to turn the tide – both Swedes had a goal and an assist – but ultimately, they still fell short.
After Utah Swede Kevin Stenlund scored twice, the home team took a comfortable 5–2 lead early in the third period. Despite a frantic push, Pittsburgh failed to equalize and lost 4–5.
