The agency will pay out the state grant to municipalities with wind power on behalf of the government starting on March 23.
For 2025, SEK 340 million has been allocated and for 2026, SEK 370 million will be distributed.
The municipality that receives the most support is Piteå, just over SEK 81 million in total payments for 2025 and 2026, followed by Sollefteå, which receives a total of nearly SEK 33 million, and Ånge, which receives a total of SEK 29.5 million.
"The support aims to increase municipalities' incentives to say yes to new wind power and compensate those municipalities where wind power has already been built," says Elin Larsson, head of unit at the Swedish Energy Agency in a press release.
