The accident occurred on Thisted Landevej shortly after 8 a.m. on Midsummer's Eve. The vehicle rolled onto its side and blocked the roadway.
Several pigs were reported running around on the road shortly after the accident. Some animals are reported to have died, and the remainder are expected to be euthanized.
"This is due to the injuries the pigs have sustained and the stress they have been exposed to," Jesper Sørensen of the North Jutland Police told the Ritzau news agency.
