This is not the first time an authentic Picasso work has been raffled in a similar way. In 2013, a firefighter in Pennsylvania won the painting "Man in an Opera Hat," which was painted during Picasso's Cubist period in 1914.
In 2020, an accountant in Italy was able to enjoy the 1921 oil painting "Nature morte" after her son bought a lottery ticket as a Christmas present.
This year's lottery prize is the work "Woman's Head," a gouache painted in 1941.
The Alzheimer Research Foundation in Paris is organizing the charity lottery, and the draw will take place at the Christie's auction house on Tuesday.
The number of tickets is limited to 120,000, which will raise 12 million euros for research if all tickets are sold.
