Australia's Oscar Piastri won safely Sunday's F1 race that was decided in Dutch Zandvoort. A victory that can decide the total F1 victory to his advantage, since the foremost challenger and teammate, Lando Norris, had to break.

The start of the race seemed to get the same development as in the latest races.

McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris (United Kingdom) quickly took a lead which they held until the 65th of the 72 laps.

Then it seemed to become a safe double lead for McLaren. The only one who could occasionally keep up with the pace was the home driver Max Verstappen.

But on the 65th lap, Lando Norris got a engine failure and broke the race.

Max Verstappen came second and the young Frenchman Isack Hadjar came third in his Racing Bulls car.

The victory meant that Lando Norris lost 25 points in the overall standings to the leader Oscar Piastri, who leads with 34 points when there are nine competitions left.

But Piastri has ice in his stomach when it comes to the overall victory:

Today I controlled the race and am satisfied with how everything worked. But it's a long way to go before everything is settled, he says in Viaplay.
