A piano teacher at the Kulturskolan in Gothenburg has filed a harassment complaint with the city of Gothenburg, writes Göteborgs-Posten. He is reporting the Kulturskolan's management, which has decided to increasingly switch to group teaching. The teacher writes that he has been told that individual teaching can "create an imbalance of power in the room."

The head of the cultural school, Jens Ericson, says he has never heard anything but good things about the complainant and is self-critical of how he has informed the staff. He points out that the budget has been cut.

We have a political mission to reach more people. One-to-one teaching is great in many ways, but it is too expensive. So we need to reach more students per teacher and educator.

Right now, 1,300 children are on a waiting list to take piano lessons at the Kulturskolan.
