The physical bookstore had the largest growth during the second quarter of the year. Compared to the same period last year, sales there increased by 27 million kronor, according to new statistics from the Publishers' Association and the Swedish Booksellers' Association.
The digital subscription services also increased sales, albeit with a slightly lower amount, 22 million kronor. However, it was enough for the digital subscription services to surpass the internet bookstore and for the first time become the largest sales channel.
All sales channels included, the turnover for printed books increased by 2.7 percent to 699 million kronor. The digital streams also increased, but the turnover is significantly lower there: 11.8 million kronor.
