NRK is highlighting the photos that were posted on the Swedish Ski Association's website on Tuesday. One of the photos, taken in connection with the presentation of the national cross-country team's latest sponsorship, shows Egil Kristiansen.
Swedish cross-country manager Lars Öberg is reticent when asked about the matter.
"I have no comments. It will come on Thursday," Öberg tells NRK.
Several media outlets have highlighted Kristiansen as a likely replacement for Anders Byström, who recently left the role. The 60-year-old Norwegian most recently came from the Norwegian biathlon national team, where he had been the men's coach for the past ten years.
The Swedish national team squads for next season will be presented on Thursday. So will "some changes in the national team management," Lars Öberg writes to Expressen.
