In total, there will be 18 exhibitions during the anniversary year. It will conclude with a large jubilee exhibition, where works from the start to the present day will be displayed. At the same time, an exhibition with future stars of the Swedish art and photography sky will open.
"We are extremely happy to pay tribute to the power of photography and our first 15 years together with many of the world's most established image artists and future names," says exhibition manager Pauline Benthede in a press release.
During the anniversary year, among others, Anton Corbijn, Marco Brambilla, and Viviane Sassen will be showcased. Additionally, Swedish photographers will be highlighted, including portrait master Hans Hammarskiöld, who would have turned 100 years old this year. There will also be an exhibition about being a family with Anna Clarén, Hannah Modigh, and Ewa Stackelberg.
Another highlight is Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari's creative studio Toiletpaper, featuring, among other things, a swimming pool filled with thousands of bananas.
During the first 15 years, there have been 272 exhibitions and approximately six million visitors to Fotografiska.
