A fire broke out on a ferry in the tourist-rich province of Palawan on Wednesday evening. According to Philippine authorities, the number of people found dead has risen to 76.
The ferry was en route from the capital, Manila, to the town of Coron when the fire broke out. A survivor described hearing an explosion from the ferry's cargo hold.
Video clips from the scene show the ferry partially engulfed in flames.
The Philippine Coast Guard said in a statement that the remains will be transported to a port in the tourist resort town of Coron on the island of Palawan.
